Ten heritage sites in Saarland will receive a total of €480,000 in funding this year from the German Foundation for Monument Protection (DSD), based in Bonn. Among the ten listed buildings is the former Differten train station in Wadgassen, the foundation announced. Built around 1880, the structure requires extensive restoration before being repurposed as a residential and holiday home.

Founded in 1985, the DSD reports it has allocated roughly €800 million nationwide to preserve over 7,600 monuments since its inception.
