Astrid Jutta Fath to Lead Wohnbau Mainz as New Technical Director in 2026

Astrid Jutta Fath has been appointed as the new technical managing director of Wohnbau Mainz, succeeding Franz Ringhoffer. A specialist in urban development, project development, and portfolio management, Fath brings extensive experience from senior roles in housing management, public administration, and real estate development, along with a deep understanding of the challenges facing the housing market.

Most recently, she served as a board member of TreuBau Freiburg AG, where she oversaw planning, project development, and asset management. In her new role, her focus will be on the technical oversight of Wohnbau Mainz's properties, as well as the leasing of residential and commercial units, balancing a diverse portfolio of subsidized and market-rate housing, commercial spaces, and social infrastructure.

Prior to this, Fath held key leadership positions, including technical director at GGH Heidelberg, head of planning at GAG Ludwigshafen, and director of the urban development and environmental office in Schriesheim. In these roles, she managed large investment budgets, led interdisciplinary teams, and steered strategic development processes at the intersection of economic viability, urban planning, and sustainability.

Wohnbau Mainz is jointly owned by the city of Mainz, the municipal holding company ZBM, and RIO Energieeffizienz GmbH & Co. KG. The shareholders have welcomed the appointment, viewing Fath as a compelling and forward-thinking choice to lead the company. They are confident that, alongside Roman Becker, she will drive the company's growth with her technical expertise and strategic vision.

The shareholders and supervisory board chair Jana Schmöller emphasized the close, collaborative selection process, stating that Fath's appointment reflects a shared vision for Wohnbau Mainz's future direction. They see this decision as a strong foundation for a trusting partnership and the company's continued development. Wohnbau Mainz is convinced it has found a leader who will advance the organization both operationally and strategically. Fath is set to begin her contract on October 1, 2026.
