Trump’s childhood home hits the market after wild ownership saga
A house once lived in by President Donald Trump as a baby is back on the market. Located in Jamaica Estates, the property is being marketed for its 'rich historical pedigree'. The house has had an eventful history since Trump's time there. In 2016, investor Anthony Davis bought it for $1.39 million on Election Night, betting on Trump's win. Davis later sold it to a Chinese buyer for $2.14 million on Trump's 2017 inauguration day. After buying the house, Davis leased it back and rented it out on Airbnb for $800 per night. He decorated it with Waldorf Astoria furniture and Trump-related plaques. However, the house fell into disrepair, with a colony of feral cats appearing and a bad smell reported. In February this year, a real-estate developer bought the house for $835,000 and spent $500,000 on renovations. The house is now described as a 'beige box' blending history and modern luxury, featuring smart toilets. Oxfam rented the house during the United Nations General Assembly in 2017, inviting refugees to share their stories. This led the owner to buy out Davis' lease. The house, now listed for $2.3 million, offers a unique blend of history and modern luxury. Its past, including its connection to President Trump, is expected to draw interest from potential buyers.
