Schleswig-Holstein plans largest investment package - Schleswig-Holstein Unveils €1.3 Billion Investment Plan for Infrastructure and Climate Protection

Schleswig-Holstein is set to embark on its largest investment project to date, with a total of 1.3 billion euros earmarked for various infrastructure and climate protection initiatives. The investment calculator, which will be spent by 2030, is aimed at bolstering trust in the state's functionality, as stated by Minister President Daniel Günther.

The package includes 550 million euros for roads, railways, harbors, and bike paths, with a significant portion, over 450 million euros, dedicated to climate protection. This will fund additional and previously unfunded measures, although the specific details of these projects have not yet been specified.

In addition to these, 280 million euros will go towards the expansion of all-day schools. The investment package also allocates 200 million euros for hospital modernization and 100 million euros for social infrastructure. This is on top of existing investments and focuses on strengthening roads, railways, harbors, climate protection, and social cohesion.

Schleswig-Holstein has received 3.4 billion euros from federal funds, with 2.1 billion euros going directly to municipalities. The investment package is planned to be spent by 2030.

The Schleswig-Holstein investment package, the largest in the state's history, aims to improve infrastructure, protect the climate, and enhance social cohesion. With a total of 1.3 billion euros, it is set to make a significant impact on the state's development over the next decade.
