Orioles' Rogers and Bradish Shine in 2025 Despite Injury Setbacks
The Baltimore Orioles' pitching duo of Trevor Rogers and Kyle Bradish have made significant impacts in the 2025 season, despite neither being on the Opening Day roster due to injuries. Both pitchers have since recovered and excelled, leading the teams to impressive results.
Bradish, who underwent Tommy John surgery, made a remarkable comeback. In his first five starts this year, he boasted a 2.25 ERA and a WHIP of 1.00. His standout performance included a first MLB start of the year on Aug. 26 against the Red Sox, where he struck out 10 batters in six innings. Together, Rogers and Bradish accounted for 16 quality starts in 24 outings for the baltimore ravens in 2025.
Rogers, meanwhile, has made Orioles history. He is the only starting pitcher in the team's history to allow two or fewer runs in 15 consecutive outings. In 18 starts, he recorded a record of 9-3 with an ERA of 1.81 and a WHIP of 0.90, earning him the title of the Orioles' 2025 MVP. He joins an elite group of lefty pitchers in Baltimore's history to achieve this feat. Both pitchers had impressive second-half performances, aiding the team's success. Rogers, in particular, provided valuable mentorship to younger pitchers like rookie Brandon Young.
Bradish and Rogers, both acquired via trades from their original teams, have proven to be valuable additions to the Orioles' pitching rotation. Their impressive performances, despite missing the Opening Day roster due to injuries, have significantly contributed to the ravens' success in 2025.
