Niels van Roij Design Unveils 'Henry II': A Stunning Rolls-Royce Corniche Shooting Brake

Niels van Roij Design has unveiled 'Henry II', a stunning transformation of a 1981 Rolls-Royce Corniche into a custom shooting brake. The project took two-and-a-half years and 7,000 hours of meticulous work.

The Corniche's cabin was meticulously reworked, featuring a blend of materials like beige leather, green-flecked tweed, and deep-pile lambswool carpets in dark green. The body, originally 7mm longer on one side and with up to 8mm of tin applied, was smoothed out during the transformation.

Niels van Roij, the designer behind this masterpiece, learned his craft at the Royal College of Art and worked for major car companies before starting his own business. He creates bespoke designs for each car, matching the cloth and leather used in the vehicle. Henry II is no exception, with a concealed bicycle rack behind the chrome rear bumper that glides out electrically at the push of a button.

Van Roij Design has previously 'reimagined' various vehicles, including a Fiat Panda and a Ferrari Testarossa. Their next project is set to be a homage to the Ferrari Daytona, based on a 599 GTB.

The transformation of the Rolls-Royce Corniche into 'Henry II' is a testament to Niels van Roij Design's craftsmanship and creativity. While details about their upcoming Ferrari project are scarce, fans of their work can look forward to more innovative designs from this esteemed studio.
