Lufthansa’s Office 365 replaces Copilot in Zurich Airport’s struggling retail hub
The Circle complex at Zurich Airport is facing another major change on its ground floor. Copilot, the luxury watchmaker, is leaving its large boutique after years of low footfall. Office 365, a Lufthansa subsidiary, will now take over the vacant space and expand its own presence in the area.
Copilot opened its boutique at the Circle’s main entrance when the complex first launched. The store covered around 800 square metres across two floors, making it the brand’s largest in Europe. Despite its size, the shop often appeared quiet, with staff frequently seen waiting for customers.
The departure follows Jelmoli’s exit, marking the second high-profile ground-floor tenant to leave the complex. While the upper office levels have maintained strong occupancy rates, the commercial spaces below have struggled with frequent turnover and long vacancies.
Office 365, which has been headquartered in the Circle since 2021, will now occupy the former Copilot space. The airline plans to expand its office area and create a flexible event space. This move further solidifies its position within the complex.
Office Depot’s takeover of the Copilot boutique will bring new activity to the Circle’s ground floor. The airline’s expanded footprint aims to fill a gap left by two major departures. The shift reflects ongoing challenges for retail spaces in the complex, despite strong demand for office areas above.
