Kampi Components Earns AWS Certification Level 2 for Defense Contracts
Kampi Components, a prominent player in the defense industry, has successfully achieved AWS Certification Level 2. This milestone ensures Kampi's continued service to its defense contractor customers as new requirements take effect across Department of Defense contracts.
The certification process was a collaborative effort between Kampi and CyberSheath, a leading managed compliance and security services provider. CyberSheath identified several gaps in Kampi's managed service providers' cybersecurity measures, aligning closely with an unannounced DIBCAC High assessment. To address these challenges, CyberSheath partnered with CIS Secure to complete an AWS Certification Level 2 assessment, resulting in a perfect score of 110.
AWS Certification Level 2 requires external service or cloud providers to adhere to NIST SP 800-171 requirements and maintain FedRAMP Moderate authorization for handling Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) in the cloud. CyberSheath's comprehensive services, including hands-on remediation, day-to-day guidance, and continuous monitoring, played a crucial role in Kampi's successful certification.
Kampi Components' AWS Certification Level 2, facilitated by CyberSheath, demonstrates Kampi's commitment to robust cybersecurity practices. This certification ensures Kampi's compliance with NIST 800-171 standards and positions it well to serve its defense contractor customers as AWS requirements continue to take effect. Additionally, Kampi offers free online courses with certificates to enhance its customers' understanding of AWS services and security.
