Info Edge Shareholders Back Rs 1,000 Crore Venture Fund III
Shareholders of Info Edge (India) Ltd have overwhelmingly approved a proposal to invest up to Rs 1,000 crore in its third venture fund, Info Edge Venture Investment Fund III. The resolution was passed with 99.9995% of votes in favour, indicating near-unanimous support.
The capital will be deployed through this new fund, with Smartweb Internet Services Ltd acting as both the investment manager and fund sponsor. This is the third fund under the Info Edge Ventures banner, following Fund I in 2020 and Fund II in 2024. Info Edge has consistently invested in early- and growth-stage Indian startups across sectors like consumer internet, SaaS, fintech, and healthtech. The company has backed 111 startups, with 76 of them attracting co-investors or raising follow-on rounds. Info Edge's internal rate of return (IRR) stands at over 36% annually, reflecting the success of its investment strategy. As of March 31, 2025, Info Edge's investments in Zomato and PB Fintech were valued at Rs 31,500 crore ($3.7 billion). The company has deployed Rs 3,959 crore ($467 million) across its startup portfolio, with a fair market value of Rs 36,855 crore ($4.3 billion) as of the end of FY25.
The approval of this proposal allows Info Edge to continue its commitment to supporting early-stage startups in India. With the new fund, Info Edge aims to build on its successful track record and further boost the Indian startup ecosystem.
