Englobe acquires BESTECH to expand Ontario’s engineering and mining expertise
Englobe has expanded its presence in Ontario by acquiring BESTECH Canada Limited, a well-established engineering firm. The deal strengthens the company’s position in the Canadian resources sector. BESTECH, founded in 1995, brings expertise in mining, automation, and infrastructure services to the partnership.
BESTECH specialises in multidisciplinary engineering, offering mining, electrical, and civil solutions to clients. The firm employs over 100 professionals, supporting projects across automation, power systems, and structural design.
Under Englobe’s ownership structure, BESTECH’s senior team will take on leadership roles and become shareholders. This follows Colliers International’s partnership model, which encourages employee ownership. Englobe’s CEO, Bernard Couillard, and other executives acquired minority stakes in 2023 as part of the transition. Mike Cormier, Englobe’s president, highlighted that the acquisition meets two major strategic goals. The move broadens the company’s service offerings while deepening its roots in Ontario’s resource industry.
The deal integrates BESTECH’s engineering expertise into Englobe’s operations. The firm’s leadership will now hold equity under Colliers’ collaborative ownership model. This acquisition reinforces Englobe’s capabilities in mining and infrastructure across Canada.
