Brooklyn Heights Welcomes Kings Athletic Club, a Luxe Family Sports Hub

A former tennis club transforms into a members-only paradise for families. Think squash, golf simulators, and childcare—all under one stylish roof. The only *sports* haven in NYC where kids and parents play side by side.

This picture shows a couple of men playing table tennis and we see couple of them watching by standing on the side and we see all the audience seated and watching the game and we see couple of empty chairs and advertisement banners. Looks like an indoor stadium and we see text at the bottom left corner of the picture.

Brooklyn Heights Welcomes Kings Athletic Club, a Luxe Family Sports Hub

SC Hospitality, a private equity firm, has transformed a tennis club in the Hamptons into Kings Athletic Club, a multi-sports and social hub in Brooklyn Heights. The club offers a range of racquet sports, fitness facilities, and dining options, catering to families with children.

The club, designed to operate like a traditional country club, will open in the former Eastern Athletic Club space, following a 49-year lease signed by SC Hospitality and East Gate Investors. It will feature two tennis courts, a squash court, pickleball courts, golf simulators, yoga and Pilates studios, a climbing wall, and a restaurant. Memberships are capped at 200 families for tennis, with non-tennis members welcome to enjoy most facilities.

Early designs showcase an old-fashioned, preppy aesthetic, reminiscent of the Hotel St. George, with hardwood floors, coffered ceilings, and green accents. The club aims to create a 'super-family-friendly atmosphere', targeting families with one to five children. Child care will be available at certain times. The club will operate from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., welcoming members of all ages throughout the day. This expansion comes amidst a growing demand for racquet sports spaces in New York City, with a scarcity of dedicated courts.

Kings Athletic Club, set to open in Brooklyn Heights, offers a comprehensive range of sports and social activities for families. With its preppy aesthetic, family-friendly atmosphere, and extensive facilities, it aims to fill the gap in New York City's racquet sports scene.
