Zentek wins $6M legal battle against former CEO in Ontario court
Zentek Ltd., a Canadian firm specialising in graphene and advanced materials, has secured a legal victory in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. The ruling dismissed all claims totalling over $6 million brought by the company's former founder and CEO, Aubrey Eveleigh, along with his consulting firm. The decision was announced on March 13, 2026, following the court's judgment the previous day.
The Court rejected multiple financial demands made by Eveleigh and his firm. A $1.35 million severance claim was declared void after findings of fiduciary duty breaches. Indemnification requests for around $194,000 in costs and disbursements were also denied.
Other dismissed claims included $51,748.82 in unpaid wages and a $282,500 success fee tied to an unfinished pre-feasibility study. The Court further ruled that 4.5 million founder shares had been correctly issued, upholding their validity. Additionally, a $75,000 defamation claim was rejected after the statements in question were deemed factually accurate. Zentek's current CEO, Moe Jiwan, welcomed the outcome. He stated that the judgment allows the company to focus on executing its projects without ongoing legal distractions.
The ruling resolves a lengthy dispute between Zentek and its former leadership. With all claims dismissed, the company can now proceed with its graphene and advanced materials initiatives. No immediate market reaction data was available following the announcement, as the most recent stock price recorded was from July 2025.
