Western North Carolina’s luxury homes break records with $5M mountain estate sale
Western North Carolina’s luxury property market has hit new highs with record-breaking sales and exclusive listings. A mountain estate in Maggie Valley recently sold for $4.999 million, marking the highest price ever paid for a single-family home in Haywood County. The surge in high-end transactions signals strong demand for upscale residences in the region.
The $4.999 million sale of 511 Asgi Trail in Maggie Valley set a fresh benchmark for both the town and Haywood County. This remarkable deal was handled by Jennifer Campbell-Overbeeke, a global real estate advisor with Premier Sotheby’s International Realty. She noted that growing interest in luxury mountain living and shifting buyer priorities have driven the market’s momentum.
Two rare mountain properties in Waynesville have also entered the market, adding to the region’s high-end inventory. Among them is a Montana-style log estate at 303 Flying Hawk Trail, priced at $2.45 million. The home’s logs were sourced from the historic Biltmore Estate, blending rustic charm with prestige. Another standout listing is a Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired residence at 820 Laurel Ridge Drive, offered for $2.725 million.
Haywood County has already recorded six residential sales above $2 million this year. Premier Sotheby’s International Realty, known for its expertise in luxury mountain estates, continues to lead in high-value transactions across Asheville and the surrounding areas. The firm’s affiliation with the global Sotheby’s brand provides additional exposure through international marketing and auction channels.
The recent sales and listings confirm Western North Carolina’s rising status as a top luxury residential market in the Southeast. With multiple high-value closings and distinctive properties on offer, the region is attracting affluent buyers seeking exclusive mountain retreats. The trend reflects both increased demand and the area’s growing reputation for premium real estate.
