Vienna’s Roomeo project secures permit for 156 new apartments by 2027

A new residential development called Roomeo has secured a building permit in Vienna’s Donaustadt district. The project, designed by AllesWirdGut Architektur ZT GmbH, will bring 156 apartments to the area. Developers ZIMA and STRABAG plan to break ground in January 2026.

The Roomeo project will offer a mix of one- to five-bedroom apartments, totalling 10,500 m² of living space. With a €70 million budget, the development is a joint effort between ZIMA and STRABAG, the latter serving as the general contractor. Sales launched this summer, and already 56 units—roughly one-third of the total—have been sold.

The Roomeo development marks a significant investment in Vienna’s Donaustadt district. With construction starting in January 2026 and completion due in late 2027, the project will deliver 156 apartments across various sizes. Early sales indicate demand, while the €70 million budget reflects the scale of the development.
