SuperQ and Fraunhofer ITWM unite to accelerate quantum computing for industry

SuperQ, a quantum technology firm with bases in Canada and the UAE, has teamed up with the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Mathematics (ITWM). The partnership aims to push forward quantum computing advancements tailored for European industries. Both organisations will focus on refining quantum algorithms for real-world applications.

The collaboration brings together SuperQ's quantum expertise and Fraunhofer ITWM's strengths in applied mathematics and computational science. Their joint work will target key industrial sectors, including supply chain optimisation, material science simulations, energy system modelling, and financial risk analysis.

SuperQ will gain access to Fraunhofer ITWM's research facilities and extensive network. This includes participation in publicly funded European research programmes, which could provide non-dilutive capital for projects in energy, logistics, and machine learning. The partnership also boosts SuperQ's credibility in the European market. For Fraunhofer ITWM, the alliance offers a direct route to apply theoretical research in practical industrial settings. This strengthens the institute's role in the quantum computing field while addressing specific needs in manufacturing, logistics, and other sectors.

The partnership is set to deliver tangible benefits for both sides. SuperQ expands its European footprint and secures research support, while Fraunhofer ITWM gains a partner to turn academic work into real-world solutions. The focus remains on optimising quantum algorithms for industries where they can make the biggest impact.
