Real Estate Evaluation in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern: A Mixed Bag of Results

In a recent real estate market evaluation, the city of Gnoien in the Rostock district emerged as the frontrunner, boasting a score of 6.25. Close behind was Lalendorf with a score of 6.24, and Bützow ranked third with a score of 6.11. However, the city of Gnoien's accolade was somewhat overshadowed by criticism of its high rents, which many find almost impossible for a single person to afford.

Situated in the middle field of the evaluation, Schwaan and Krakow am See scored 4.8 and 4.64 respectively. In Schwaan, there were complaints about a lack of apartment blocks, while a participant from Krakow am See criticized the poor housing quality and struggling real estate market in the city. Another participant from Bützow expressed a desire for more affordable housing for young people.

The city of Güstrow, despite ranking fifth with a score of 5.25, received mixed reviews. Some participants praised its recent renovations and beauty, while others criticized its high rents and the significant decrease in housing supply, with newly developed building areas remaining empty. A survey participant from a village near Schwaan wished for a simpler conversion of land to building land.

Broderstorf and Elmenhorst/Lichtenhagen ranked higher than Schwaan and Krakow am See, in ninth and tenth place respectively. One participant raved about Teterow, describing it as a "pearl in Mecklenburg." However, some participants criticized Teterow's neglected and dilapidated plots of land. Another participant from Güstrow expressed concern about two-thirds of one's income going towards rent, considering it unacceptable.

The total participation in the home check was 16,664, with 15,183 from the focus regions of MV, Uckermark, and Prignitz. The district of Rostock had 1,416 participants in the survey. Unfortunately, the search results do not provide information about the cities participating in the survey project on the local residential real estate brand or the number of respondents in the Rostock district region.

Overall, the evaluation provides a snapshot of the current state of the real estate market in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, revealing both strengths and areas for improvement. As the region continues to grow and develop, it is hoped that these insights will guide future planning and investment in the housing sector.
