South Korea's Securities Industry Hits Record Growth in 2025

South Korea's securities industry saw strong growth in 2025, with profits and trading activity both rising sharply. The combined net profit of 61 domestic firms jumped by 39 percent, reaching 9.65 trillion won. At the same time, stock turnover surged by 36 percent, hitting a record 6,348 trillion won. The financial performance of securities companies improved across several key areas. Their total assets grew by 25 percent, while debts rose by 26.8 percent. Commission fee income also climbed by 28.3 percent, reflecting higher trading volumes.

Futures firms also reported positive results. Three major companies posted a combined net profit of 88.6 billion won, marking a 10.8 percent increase from the previous year. Meanwhile, the capital base of securities companies expanded by 11.7 percent, providing a stronger financial foundation. The data highlights a robust year for Korea's securities sector in 2025. Higher trading activity, increased profits, and stronger asset growth all point to a thriving market. The industry's financial health appears solid, with both securities and futures firms showing gains.
