Russky Island’s Futuristic Mini-City to Rise by 2041 Under Rosatom’s Leadership

A new mini-city spanning 334 hectares is set to be built on Russky Island by 2041. The Russian state corporation Rosatom has been chosen to lead the project, which will unfold in three stages. Plans include modern housing, sports facilities, and research centres, with demolition of older structures already underway.

The development will take place in three phases. The first, due by 2030, includes a sports complex, an indoor sports facility, a parking lot, and the reconstruction of the road network. By 2040, the second phase will add three residential buildings, a restaurant, and a standalone hotel. The final stage, with no fixed deadline, will complete the remaining infrastructure.

The mini-city on Russky Island will transform the area with modern amenities and research facilities. Construction will progress in phases, with Rosatom managing the development. Once complete, the project will offer upgraded housing, sports centres, and business hubs while reducing the resident population through higher living standards.
