Moscow's Western District Dismantles 50+ Illegal Structures in 2023 Crackdown
Moscow's Western Administrative District has seen a crackdown on illegal constructions. Over 50 illegal structures, spanning more than 77,500 square feet, have been demolished since the start of the year. This follows the identification of 119 unauthorized structures, including 87 permanent and 32 temporary ones, from January to September.
The district has recorded 610 violations, with 377 related to land use and 233 involving non-residential properties. Under a program to reduce dilapidated and hazardous buildings, 24 unsafe structures have been demolished and 3 buildings have been renovated. Despite these efforts, the search for the head of the State Real Estate Inspectorate in Moscow responsible for these demolitions has not yielded a name.
