Lemon Tree Hotels expands into Akola with a new 55-room property in Maharashtra

Lemon Tree Hotels has announced a new property in Akola, Maharashtra, expanding its presence in the state. The company's portfolio there will grow to 28 hotels once this latest addition opens. The move follows a recent signing in Madhya Pradesh and reflects the brand's ongoing expansion plans.

The upcoming hotel in Akola will feature 55 rooms alongside a restaurant, banquet hall, and conference facilities. Guests will also have access to a fitness centre, swimming pool, and spa. Vilas Pawar, CEO of the Managed and Franchise Business at Lemon Tree Hotels, highlighted Akola's rising commercial significance as a key factor in the decision.

Akola serves as a major hub for agriculture and trade, particularly in cotton production. The city is situated roughly 265 km from Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport and just 4.4 km from Akola Junction railway station. This strategic location strengthens the hotel's appeal for business and leisure travellers alike.

Beyond Akola, Lemon Tree Hotels plans to add seven more properties across Maharashtra, bringing its total in the state to 28. Last month, the company also signed a new Lemon Tree Premier hotel in Omkareshwar, Madhya Pradesh, managed by Carnation Hotels Private Limited.

At 1:25 PM on the day of the announcement, Lemon Tree Hotels' shares were trading 0.99% lower at Rs 112.55 on the National Stock Exchange.

The new Akola hotel will bolster Lemon Tree's footprint in Maharashtra, catering to both commercial and leisure demand. With seven more properties planned in the state, the company continues to expand its network. The recent signing in Madhya Pradesh further signals its growth strategy across central and western India.
