KaDeWe in City West: Quantum P1 office tower facade fully installed

A major office development in Berlin’s Schöneberg district is back on track after a change in ownership. The 13-storey 'P1' project, originally stalled by Signa’s insolvency, has been taken over by Quantum Group. The company now aims to finish the building by early 2027, with key milestones already underway.

The 'P1' tower sits opposite the famous KaDeWe department store in City West. Signa had first planned the project but halted construction after its financial collapse. Quantum Group stepped in during summer 2024 to revive the scheme, ensuring its completion.

The facade of the building has now been fully installed, and interior work is progressing. By next year’s holiday season, the area is expected to take on a refreshed appearance. Once finished, the development will offer around 168,000 square feet of office space and 51,100 square feet of retail space. Sustainability is a key focus of the design. The building will include a combined heat and power plant alongside a 2,700-square-foot photovoltaic system. Green rooftop gardens spanning roughly 28,000 square feet will also feature. The project is targeting top certifications, including WELL, LEED Platinum, and WiredScore Platinum.

Quantum Group has set a completion date of early 2027 for the 'P1' tower. The development will add significant office and retail space to Schöneberg while meeting high environmental standards. With the facade now complete, the project marks a visible step forward for Berlin’s City West district.
