India’s Housing Market Cools as Price Growth Slows Sharply in Q2 2025-26
House prices in India showed mixed trends in the second quarter of 2025-26. While some cities saw strong gains, the overall growth slowed sharply compared to last year. The national index even recorded a slight drop from the previous quarter.
The All-India House Price Index (HPI) rose by just 2.2% in Q2 2025-26, a significant slowdown from the 7% increase seen in the same period last year. This weaker growth came despite gains in certain cities.
The latest figures highlight a cooling trend in India’s housing market. While a few cities still experienced price growth, the national index fell quarter-on-quarter. The sharp slowdown from last year’s 7% rise suggests a shift in market conditions.
