Hundreds of Yakutsk families relocated from unsafe housing in three years
RIA Joint-Stock Company has relocated hundreds of residents from unsafe housing in Yakutsk over the past three years. The effort included moving families into new apartments or offering financial compensation. Officials credit teamwork between developers, utilities, and local government for the progress made so far.
Between 2022 and 2025, RIA helped 711 people from 312 apartments find new homes or receive payments. This cleared nearly 11,000 square meters of deteriorating housing. In 2025 alone, over 400 residents were relocated, with 321 moving into the Zvezdny microdistrict and 82 choosing cash instead.
In total, 550 residents (214 families) settled into new apartments, while 161 people (98 families) took financial compensation. The company also vacated more than 5,000 square meters of uninhabitable buildings last year. Looking ahead, RIA plans to expand its work. Construction is already underway on 17 buildings in Block 2B of the Sportivny microdistrict. CEO Liya Shainurova highlighted the importance of collaboration in achieving these results.
The relocations have removed hundreds of families from unsafe living conditions. With ongoing projects in Sportivny, RIA expects to increase its housing efforts in the coming year. The focus remains on providing either new homes or fair compensation to affected residents.
