Competition for House at Cape Arkona Expected - Historic 1905 weather station on Rügen heads to auction for €179,000

A historic weather station on Cape Arkona, Rügen, will headline an upcoming real estate auction in Hamburg. The event, organised by Norddeutsche Grundstücksauktionen AG (NDGA), features 22 properties across northern Germany. Bidding will begin at €179,000 for the former Imperial German Navy building, now a century-old landmark.

The Cape Arkona property, a solid-brick weather station dating back to 1905, stands as the auction’s most distinctive lot. Originally part of the Imperial German Navy’s infrastructure, the building now offers a rare chance to own a piece of maritime history. Its starting price is set at €179,000.

The December 3 auction presents a mix of historic, residential, and luxury properties. Bidding will determine the final prices for all 22 lots, with the Cape Arkona weather station and the 'Bunte Villa' among the standout offerings. The results will reflect current demand for real estate in northern Germany’s coastal and inland regions.
