GESOBAU's Wiesenstraße 35: 78 New Affordable Apartments & Coworking Space Topped Out
GESOBAU has marked a significant milestone in Berlin's Wedding district with the topping-out ceremony for a development at Wiesenstraße 35. The project, set to be completed by autumn 2026, will bring 78 new rental apartments, most of them fully accessible, and a large coworking space to the area.
The 1,845-square-meter site at the corner of Reinickendorfer Straße will house an infill building along Reinickendorfer Straße and a corner structure facing Wiesenstraße, each with seven full floors and a basement. The project combines urban infill development in a central location with social responsibility and innovative usage concepts. Of the 78 apartments, 62 will be fully accessible, with roughly half offered as subsidized housing at rents starting from €6.50 per square meter. The development omits car parking in favor of 117 bicycle spots, reinforcing its commitment to green urban mobility.
The project aims to transform the neighborhood into not just a place to live, but also a place to work, embracing the principle of the 'city of short distances'. It integrates residential and professional life in an urban setting, with a coworking space operated by cowork AG. The project strengthens the local community and enhances social diversity in the district.
The GESOBAU project at Wiesenstraße 35 is set to deliver 78 new rental apartments, most of them fully accessible and affordable, along with a large coworking space. Scheduled for completion by autumn 2026, this development not only addresses housing needs but also promotes green mobility and community integration in Berlin's Wedding district.
