Detroit's Skyline Welcomes Luxury Residences at the Edition Hotel

A new luxury residential project is coming to Detroit's skyline. The Residences at the Detroit Edition will open next year as the brand's first Midwest location. The development sits atop the Detroit Edition hotel within the historic Hudson's Detroit tower. The project is a collaboration between Dan Gilbert's Bedrock and the Edition hotel group. It forms part of a larger 1.5-million-square-foot mixed-use development on the site of the former J. L. Hudson Department Store. Alongside the residences, the tower will include office space, retail outlets, an event venue, and a cocktail bar run by Union Square Hospitality Group.

The Residences will feature 96 condos, ranging from one to four bedrooms. Prices start at around $600,000 for the smallest units, with sales managed by Douglas Elliman Development Marketing. Each home includes great rooms with 10-foot ceilings and expansive windows offering views of the city. SHoP Architects designed the units, while Yabu Pushelberg crafted the interiors. Residents will have access to 14,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor amenities, including a fitness suite, a children's playroom, co-working spaces, and a landscaped terrace. They will also enjoy the hotel's restaurants, an additional pool, and extra spa services.

The development marks the Edition's first residential project in the Midwest. Homeowners will benefit from high-end finishes, city views, and shared hotel facilities. Sales are now underway, with move-ins expected by next year.
