C & I Leasing doubles dividend payout after record 2025 earnings surge
C & I Leasing Plc has announced a final dividend of 20 kobo per share for the 2025 financial year. This marks a 100% increase from the 10 kobo paid out in 2024. Shareholders approved the payout, which will be distributed electronically in June 2026. The company’s financial performance improved significantly in 2025. Lease income rose to N44.4 billion, up from N31.07 billion the previous year. This growth helped push pre-tax profit for Q1 2026 to N532.8 million, compared with N487.9 million in the same period of 2025.
Retained earnings also surged by 174.01%, reaching N4.7 billion from N1.7 billion in 2024. The net profit for 2025 stood at N3.9 billion, supporting a dividend payout ratio of 15.08%. The total dividend payment is valued at approximately N589.7 million, based on the company’s 2,948,576,945 outstanding shares. Shareholders registered by June 1, 2026, will qualify for the payout. Those who have completed e-dividend registration will receive their payment electronically on June 15, 2026. The dividend yield, based on the share price of N6.75 before market open on May 19, 2026, is 2.96%.
The dividend increase reflects C & I Leasing Plc’s stronger financial position. Shareholders will receive payments in mid-June, provided they meet registration deadlines. The company’s improved earnings and lease income underpin the higher payout.
