Berlin's New Eco-Friendly Logistics Hub Takes Flight Near BER Airport by 2027

A major logistics and industrial development is taking shape near Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER). The project, led by evolutiq and Urban Partners, will transform a former brownfield site into a modern facility. Plans include flexible spaces for logistics, light industry, and offices, with completion expected by 2027. The development sits on a 20,500-square-meter plot in southern Berlin, close to the A10 motorway ring. Around 12,500 square meters of gross floor space will be created, designed for single tenants or multiple users. The site's location near BER Airport makes it a key spot for logistics growth in the region.

Sustainability is central to the project. Features will include heat pumps, photovoltaic panels, and green roofs on parts of the buildings. By repurposing underused land, the developers aim to avoid sealing new green areas. Jan-Nicolai Tröndle, Manager of Business Development at evolutiq, highlighted the project's broader goals. He noted that it would enhance the area's attractiveness and support the local economy. The new facility joins other large-scale logistics projects around BER, including the P3 Berlin Airport Park, which is due to finish by late 2026 with 90,000 square meters of rental space. The SEGRO Park Berlin Airport is also expanding, adding more logistics and light industrial units. This surge in activity reflects rising demand for modern, well-located industrial spaces near the capital.

The facility is set to open in 2027, offering adaptable spaces for businesses. Its eco-friendly design and strategic position near BER Airport and the A10 motorway aim to meet both economic and environmental targets. The project forms part of a wider trend of logistics growth in the region.
